Reiki symbols

1. Cho Ku Rei (“Place the power of the universe here”)
This symbol is mainly used to strengthen and direct Reiki energy. Practitioners often use it at the beginning or end of a session for protection, cleansing, and increasing the flow of healing energy. It is also believed to help clear negative energy from spaces or objects.

2. Sei He Ki (“God and humanity become one”)
This symbol focuses on emotional and mental healing. It is commonly used to support stress relief, emotional balance, breaking unhealthy habits, improving memory, and calming the mind. Many practitioners associate it with harmony between emotions and thoughts.

3. Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen (“No past, no present, no future”).
Known as the distance healing symbol, it allows Reiki energy to be sent beyond physical location. Practitioners use it for distant healing sessions, healing past emotional experiences, and sending positive intentions into the future. It is connected with the idea that energy is not limited by time or space.

4. Dai Ko Myo (“Great shining light”)
This is the master symbol used in advanced Reiki practice and teaching. It is associated with spiritual growth, inner wisdom, enlightenment, and deep healing on the soul level. Reiki masters use it during attunements and to strengthen the connection between practitioner and universal life energy.

Reiki Grand Master attunements are advanced spiritual initiation processes given by a Reiki Master Teacher to a student who has reached the highest levels of Reiki training.
